Claire McVinnie

Claire McVinnie is an artist based in North Fife who graduated from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in Dundee with a B des (HONS) in Illustration and Printmaking.

She has worked in just about every medium available from metal, clay and recycled objects/packaging to photography and film.

This journey took her full circle back to printmaking when I was offered a job in Dundee Contemporary Arts Print Studio 20 years ago. She embraced this opportunity to work as Studio Co-ordinator. Whether she's on or off duty – she can usually be found in the Print Studio!

She enjoys all kinds of printmaking but specialises in screen printing, collagraph. etching and mono printing. She creates her images in a variety of ways such as drawing, mono printing or using photography and manipulating the images using Photoshop. She loves to join old traditional methods of printmaking with more modern techniques of image creation in her endeavor to amuse herself and others.
